Michael holds two Bachelors of Music degrees from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, a Master of the Arts in Pastoral Care & Counseling and Rabbinic Ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, and a Master of Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University.
Michael is licensed in Maryland and Pennsylvania, and is able to offer telehealth sessions for clients physically located in the states of Maryland or Pennsylvania. Michael does not currently provide in-person therapy.

Michael is a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent white therapist who practices from an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, disability- and trauma-informed perspective. They strive to create a safe, affirming space in which to address issues collaboratively with their clients. He works with adolescents and adults with a focus on those who are LGBTQIA+, disabled, and/or in consensually non-monogamous relationships.
Michael utilizes a person centered, liberatory framework in sessions, while introducing tools and techniques from evidence-based practices. They are also an EMDR Certified Therapist and EMDR Consultant in Training (CIT).
Michael specializes in the treatment of trauma and trauma-related disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, and grief. Apart from their practice as a therapist, Michael is also a liberal rabbi. He is aware of how many of us with marginalized identities have been rejected or hurt by our religious/spiritual/cultural communities, and is open to helping clients explore and reclaim religious/spiritual/cultural practices and thought.
