Marybeth is a queer, white, gender non-conforming therapist who operates from an anti-oppressive, trauma-informed framework. She views therapy as a collaborative endeavor of making meaning and cultivating well-being, where the client can ultimately feel comfortable being their authentic self and feel supported and fully seen. Marybeth is a warm, compassionate, irreverent therapist who works with LGBTQIA+ adolescents and adults who have experienced all types of trauma.

Marybeth uses an eclectic therapeutic framework, drawing primarily from mindfulness and Buddhist psychology, attachment theory, and psychodynamic approaches. They use these tools to help clients develop skills that promote resilience, well-being, and an ability to fully engage in the hero’s journey of being alive. They are also a mindfulness practitioner who regularly attends silent meditation retreats. Marybeth is currently enrolled in EMDR Basic Training with Deany Laliotis of the Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy.

Marybeth’s specialties are depression, anxiety, and ADHD, especially as they intersect with trauma. Marybeth recognizes how structural oppression disproportionately affects sensitive and/or minoritized individuals. She believes that easing suffering is best done in connection with others, such as in the therapeutic relationship. Her goal is to help people who struggle with forming and maintaining healthy relationships understand why and what to do about it, and to lead a more purposeful life.
